Ski Pilot

We found ourselves on top of a mountain this summer solstice weekend.
It was a plan b - facilitated by the gondola access.

Bigfoot Lives!

Coast to Coast AM with George Noory is my latest fixation! By gaining access to intelligence leaked by shadowy sources, I was recently initiated into the ranks of the "Coast Insiders". Armed with this new entrance to information, I am now able uncover conspiracy, spot spooks, and catch cryptids. And who better to start than with Sasquatch? Here we are in the native habitat! I sewed this new patch on my mid-layer as a signal of friendship and peace in case we ever meet him (or her, or them!) along the trail.

Baker and Rainier from the air

The scale of these mountains as perceived from commercial aviation's 30k-foot perspective captivates the mountaineer's imagination!

Tendon Ambition 8.5

We've been searching for the perfect light-duty alpine rope:
A mid-sized bi-color.

Tendon Ambition 8.5

We were introduced to this brand on a recent trip to Stockholm.  Tendon's Ambition 8.5 half rope might save alpinists valuable energy when compared to packing the weight of a 9-10+ diameter rope.  We would consider use as a single rope on mild alpine rock and glacial travel where a fall is possible, although unlikely.  This rope appeals to the ideals of those who wish to carry one rope when mountaineering:
  • bi-color
  • lightweight
  • water/abrasion resistant
  • longer rappels (vs glacial short-ropes)
